The Municipality of São Pedro da Aldeia, in the Lagos Region of Rio, will make changes to traffic in the Center during the broadcast days of the Brazilian team's games in the 2026 World Cup. The measure seeks to guarantee the safety of the public who will follow the matches on a large screen installed in Praça Agenor Santos, known as Praça da Matriz.
According to the Municipal Secretariat of Security and Public Order, the closure will be in place in the downward direction of Avenida São Pedro, in the stretch between Rua Nilo Peçanha, in front of the 1st Office Registry Office, and Praça Dr. Plínio de Assis Tavares, Praça do Canhão.
The blocking will begin at 3am on game days to set up the event structure, including children's toys. Access to the Center via the uphill lane on Avenida São Pedro will remain open throughout the period.
