Court of Auditors of Sergipe Ascom/TCE The advisors of the Court of Auditors of the State of Sergipe (TCE/SE) decided, this Thursday (11), to issue precautionary measures that determine the suspension of contracts for the Cassava Festival, in Lagarto, and the Matuto Wedding, in Aquidabã. In the case of Lagarto, the plenary decided to suspend the hiring of artistic attractions with a value above R$ 400 thousand, especially those scheduled for the 23rd, 24th, 27th and 28th of June, related to the most expensive contracts for this year's Cassava Festival. ✅ Click here to follow the g1 SE channel on WhatsApp According to the TCE, the decision highlighted issues related to demonstrating the municipality's financial capacity, the budgetary compatibility of expenses, tax and social security regularity, in addition to the preservation of essential obligations. Now on g1 The TCE highlighted the following points: the cost of more than R$8 million for musical attractions alone, the existence of obligations to pay in excess of R$17 million and the commitment of personnel expenses to a level higher than the prudential limit of the Fiscal Responsibility Law. Marriage of Matuto de Aquidabã In relation to the Municipality of Aquidabã, the councilors decided to suspend the Matuto Wedding, scheduled for next Saturday, June 13th. In this case, the precautionary measure pointed out the existence of signs of payment default among municipal teaching professionals, especially regarding the incomplete payment of the constitutional holiday bonus, in addition to weaknesses in proving the Municipality's social security regularity. According to the TCE, possible transparency failures in hiring were also highlighted, given the lack of full disclosure of procedures on the National Public Procurement Portal.​ The Court also reported that the two decisions established a fine of R$100,000 in case of non-compliance and required the presentation of documents and clarifications by the municipalities involved. The measures are preventive in nature and seek to safeguard fiscal balance, responsibility in the application of public resources and priority in fulfilling essential public administration obligations. What the municipalities say Lagarto City Hall reported that it has not been officially notified, but that it will fully analyze the content of the decision and adopt the appropriate legal measures. The management also regretted the decision and reaffirmed the importance of the Cassava Festival for Lagarto and the entire Central-South region of Sergipe, since, last year, the event recorded a revenue of more than R$3.6 million. The municipal management of Lagarto also said that it is confident in the legality of the procedures adopted and reinforced its commitment to transparency, responsibility in the application of public resources, the public interest and the appreciation of cultural traditions that drive the economic and social development of Lagarto.
