Born in Jales, Gabriel Maloni Mendes da Cruz worked for the Ponzan Alimentos Group, a Brazilian industry specializing in the manufacture of seasonings, sauces, flour products and preserves. The pilot's death caused commotion among friends, family and residents of the region.

The accident occurred on Wednesday (10), when the aircraft he was piloting crashed in Marília. Pilot Henrique Guariente Filho, 47, who was also on the aircraft, did not survive the crash. The circumstances of the accident are still being investigated by the responsible authorities.
Gabriel had worked professionally in aviation for four years, according to his uncle, Jeferson Maloni, in an interview with g1. Jeferson reported that his nephew discovered his passion for aviation during his adolescence, at the age of 16, and, shortly afterwards, at the age of 18, he entered the professional pilot course.
A third person who was on board, who is also a pilot, was rescued alive and taken to Hospital das Clínicas de Marília. Pablo Portella Ilwoski, 28 years old, was discharged this Thursday morning.

According to Marília Civil Defense and Rede Voa, the concessionaire that manages the city's airport, the plane took off at around 11:13 am and was returning to the same aerodrome when it crashed, around 30 minutes later.
The aircraft crashed into a field belonging to Associação Atlética Banco do Brasil (AABB), next to the airport runway, about a kilometer from the terminal.
Fire Department teams were called to fight the fire caused by the fall and rescue the victims. The bodies of Gabriel Maloni and Henrique Guariente were found charred.
The twin-engine aircraft, with prefix PT-MDB, is a Beech Aircraft 58 model, manufactured in 1985, in normal airworthiness.
The causes of the accident are still unknown and will be investigated by the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa).
