Taiwan reports, for the first time, the intrusion of Chinese ships into the waters of a disputed island in the South China Sea

Taiwan authorities reported Thursday the intrusion of Chinese ships into the waters of Taiping Island, the largest in the disputed Spratly archipelago. The incident is the latest in a series of recent Chinese activities in the waters surrounding Taiwan and the islands under its control.
