According to information provided to the MTE, Kelvin worked as a maintenanceist and was performing work on equipment installed in the structure of one of the attraction's mountains. At the time of the accident, he was working to maintain a mechanical treadmill when, for reasons still unknown, the machine pulled part of the employee's clothes. The accident would have caused a serious laceration in the armpit region and there was significant blood loss. According to Gramado Parks, the accident did not happen in the part that serves tourists in the park, but in a maintenance area. While still at the scene, the worker reportedly went into cardiorespiratory arrest. He was rescued in critical condition and taken to hospital. The victim also suffered head trauma. In an update late in the afternoon, the MTE confirmed the worker's death. The investigation is in its initial phase. The Ministry of Labor informed that a team must carry out an inspection of the park to determine responsibilities and assess the need for possible closure of areas of the structure.
