Integrating the Sons do Pará brand, a project dedicated to the appreciation of regional music and its cultural expressions, the special presents a sensitive look at elements that make up the identity of Arraial do Pavulagem.
For TV Liberal's programming director, Vinicius Volpi, the project reinforces the broadcaster's commitment to valuing the state's cultural manifestations.
"Sons do Pará was born to tell stories through music and regional culture. In this special series, we find in Arraial do Pavulagem a universe rich in symbolism, traditions and affections that represent much of the identity of the people of Pará. Episode 1 – Flags
This Saturday (13), the first program addresses the meaning of the garrison flags present in popular culture demonstrations and June festivals. More than visual elements, they represent identity, devotion and belonging, helping to tell the story of the procession and organize, in a symbolic way, the collective experience of Arraial do Pavulagem. The episode will show how these symbols come to life in music, on the streets and in popular celebration.
Episode 2 – Symbols
On June 20th, the second episode highlights the elements that structure the visual and cultural identity of Arraial do Pavulagem. Colors, figures, objects, rhythms and gestures make up a specific language that strengthens the feeling of belonging between participants and the public. The program reveals how these symbols help preserve memories, transmit traditions and keep the connection with Amazonian popular culture alive.
Episode 3 – Devotion and Ox
Closing the series, on June 27th, the program delves into the dimension of popular religiosity present in the June festivals. Devotion to saints such as Saint John, Saint Peter and Saint Anthony appears integrated into music, processions and collective celebrations. Elements such as the flagpole and Saint John's flag reinforce the symbolic force of this festive cycle.
The episode also highlights the presence of the ox as one of the most important expressions of Brazilian and Amazonian popular culture. Integrated into the musicality, games and processions of Arraial do Pavulagem, the ox appears as a living symbol of tradition, memory and the ability of culture to cross generations and keep the identity of a people alive.
