Hexa's dream will change, in the coming days, the opening hours of street stores, shopping malls and even federal government agencies in the Federal District.
The rules were announced this week. The Brazilian team debuts in the 2026 World Cup this Saturday (13), in a game against Morocco at 7pm (Brasília time).
The path between the debut and winning the unprecedented sixth championship is made up of eight games. If Brazil advances in the competition, the rules will also apply to the knockout stage games.
The Federal District government has not yet released rules for local employees.
Check below the rules that have already been published for the Federal District.
Federal public bodies
The Ministry of Management and Innovation authorized federal employees to close their workdays three hours before the start of the match.
The rule applies to the group stage and also to the "knockout", as Brazil advances in the competition.
The rule also applies to civil servants, temporary contractors, interns and outsourced workers who work in federal public administration and local government buildings.
The rule provides that hours not worked must be compensated later. Those who do not work and do not compensate will have a proportional discount on their paycheck.
Essential services must be kept operational – and servers may choose to continue working normally, even during games.

Commerce
Employees of street stores and shopping malls will be released from work early on Brazilian National Team game days.
In the first phase of the competition, Brazil's games will take place at night. Workers will be released one hour before the start of the match and will not return after the final whistle (see below for the exact rules).
If Brazil advances to the next stage, the rules provide for two scenarios: one for afternoon games and another for night games.

'KILLAGE' PHASE (IF BRAZIL PASSES)
If Brazil qualifies, the dates and times of the following games will depend on the Brazilian team's position in the group.
Therefore, the unions reached an agreement for the following scenarios:
⚽ Brazilian games that start between 1pm and 6pm (Brasília time)
Employees must be released one hour before the start of the game.
In shopping malls, returning to work after the game is mandatory.
In street stores, the entrepreneur decides whether the team returns or is released for the rest of the day.
⚽ Brazilian games that start after 6pm (Brasília time)
Employees must be released one hour before the start of the game.
Nobody goes back to work afterwards, neither in shopping malls nor in street shops. The agreement between workers and entrepreneurs also provides that:
hours not worked due to release may be compensated on other days, with normal working hours;
the store that does not comply with the agreement will have to pay a fine of 50% of the category's starting salary for each affected worker – the amount is divided between the "victim" and the union;
If the company has already created a schedule of days off or releases that are more advantageous than the general agreement, the internal rules remain valid.
