TCE points out overbilling of R$ 2.4 million and failures in paving works in PI Reproduction/TCE-PI The Court of Auditors of the State of Piauí (TCE-PI) pointed out a possible overbilling of R$ 2.4 million and failures in paving works carried out in three municipalities in Piauí. In view of the irregularities found, the body determined that the State Department of Transport (SETRANS) does not start new services linked to the inspected contract until the problems are analyzed. The problems were identified during inspections in the municipalities of Capitão de Campos, Juazeiro do Piauí and Cabeceiras do Piauí. The contract analyzed, signed with a construction company to carry out the works, has a value of R$73.6 million. Among the flaws highlighted are premature wear of the asphalt, accumulation of water in the streets and services carried out differently from those foreseen in the project. The report also indicates that part of the paid services may not correspond to what was actually performed. Based on the problems identified, the technical team estimated a possible overbilling of R$2,456,799.20. The agency also made the release of new payments conditional on the correction of irregularities found.
