Dog was elderly woman's companion
The owner's daughter, Assenaity Lanne, told g1 Tocantins that the dog had a habit of going out alone for short walks on the street and returning shortly afterwards.
"My mother always opened the gate for him to take a walk around the front. He would leave and come back. At the time this happened, he had gone out for one of those walks. In the video, you can see that he was already coming back and almost in front of the house", he explained.

According to his daughter, Dom was very loved by his family and neighbors.
"My mother is very shaken. Her companion was this dog. She spent all day playing with him. The neighbor also really liked him, she put perfume on him and took care of him. Their favorite was this dog", he said.
Assenaity also expressed concern about the possibility of attacks on people.
"It's not just children or elderly people. It could be anyone. No one has the strength to defend themselves against two pitbulls. This is not the type of dog to run loose. If the owner wants to go out with them, they should at least put them on a leash," he said.
The identity of those responsible for the dogs had not been confirmed until the last update of this report.

What Palmas City Hall says
The Municipal Department of Animal Protection and Welfare reported that it was aware of the images circulating on social media, but highlighted that there was no formal record of the incident through the municipality's official channels.
According to the ministry, the animal's owner can register a police report and formalize the complaint through the Municipal Ombudsman's Office or by calling 153.
The agency also informed that, if those responsible for the dogs are identified, they may be held administratively liable for infractions provided for in municipal legislation related to irresponsible keeping and failure to contain the animals.
The ministry highlighted that the movement of unaccompanied animals on public roads is not permitted and that owners are responsible for adopting measures to avoid risks to people, other animals and the dogs themselves.
If it did not reach the Civil Police
The family reported that they sought guidance on how to proceed after the attack, but are still trying to officially identify the owner of the animals involved. The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) reported that, so far, the case has not been brought to the attention of the Civil Police.
