The June events calendar promises to boost tourism in Atibaia and neighboring cities. With attractions ranging from Japanese culture to gastronomic festivals, including cultural festivals and traditional celebrations, the region is consolidated as one of the main leisure destinations in the interior of São Paulo during the winter season. The sector's expectation is that the program will contribute to increasing the flow of visitors, benefiting hotels, inns, restaurants, businesses and enterprises linked to regional tourism. Among the highlights is the traditional Bon Odori Festival, which is part of the celebrations of Atibaia's 361st birthday. The event celebrates Japanese culture through artistic presentations, typical dances, music and oriental cuisine, bringing together thousands of visitors in the central region of the city. This year's edition takes place between June 12th and 14th and has free entry. Events in Atibaia and Region Disclosure Another eagerly awaited event is the traditional Strawberry Festival of Atibaia and Jarinu, considered one of the biggest gastronomic festivals in the interior of São Paulo. The 2026 edition will have an expanded structure and is expected to receive around 70,000 visitors throughout the program. In addition to the famous strawberry-based desserts, the event brings together cultural presentations, gastronomy and attractions for the whole family. It will be in the “Duilio Maziero” Strawberry Park (Rodovia Edgard Máximo Zambotto, km 77 – Campos dos Aleixos). The program also includes June festivals, cultural meetings, gastronomic events and activities aimed at different audiences, strengthening the region's tourist vocation during the colder months of the year. Tourism strengthened by the calendar of events Events play a fundamental role in the regional tourist economy. In addition to attracting visitors from neighboring cities and the capital of São Paulo, they help to extend the length of stay of tourists and stimulate consumption in different segments. Atibaia is already known for attractions such as its mountain climate, natural landscapes, rural tourism and gastronomy. With a diverse agenda throughout the year, the municipality increases its capacity to attract visitors at different periods, reducing the effects of seasonality. The month of June is considered strategic for the sector as it coincides with the arrival of winter and the increase in demand for destinations close to the capital of São Paulo.
