"Operation Costa Limpa" was launched by the Public Ministry of Bahia (MP-BA), in conjunction with State security forces. The operation was launched by the southern unit of the Special Action Group to Combat Criminal Organizations of the MPBA (Gaeco Sul) in conjunction with the 23rd Regional Interior Police Coordination (Coorpin/Eunápolis) of the Civil Police and with the support of Military Police teams. The investigations sought to gather new evidence about the activities of the criminal organization, identify other possible members of the group, in addition to deepening the investigation into the extent of criminal activities and the financial flow related to the crimes investigated.
