This number already exceeds the target set by the Government of Mato Grosso, through the State Department of Education (Seduc-MT), which provided for 205 civic-military units by the end of 2026. economy.ig.com.br The state education network of Mato Grosso gained 24 more civic-military schools after the approval of the school community in consultations held on the 8th and 9th of June. With the addition of the new units, the state now has 252 schools in this format, a number that already exceeds the target of 205 units established by the Government of Mato Grosso to be reached by the end of 2026. Currently, civic-military schools represent around 40% of the 631 units in the state network. The percentage should increase in the coming days, as another 11 schools will still participate in consultations scheduled for next week. The decision to change the model occurred through a vote held in the schools themselves, with the participation of parents, legal guardians and enrolled students. According to the State Department of Education (Seduc-MT), popular consultation is a mandatory step before adopting the civic-military model. ✅ Click here to follow the g1 MT channel on WhatsApp Now on g1 The folder emphasizes that the transformation of units does not happen automatically. Before implementation, it is necessary to complete steps such as presenting the proposal to the school community, carrying out a public consultation and approving the results. Even after approval, implementation depends on the hiring and designation of reserve military personnel who will work in schools. In civic-military units, pedagogical management remains the responsibility of directors, coordinators and teachers, following the guidelines of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). The military works in administrative and support functions, helping to organize the school environment, control access and develop activities aimed at discipline and coexistence. With the approval of the new units, schools will begin an internal adaptation process to implement routines and protocols specific to the model. The expectation is to strengthen the administrative organization and expand monitoring of school activities. According to data from Seduc, State Civic-Military Schools currently have 172,883 students enrolled. When added to the 21,580 students at State Military Schools, the total reaches 194,463 students, equivalent to around 58% of the more than 333,000 students in the state network. Among the schools that had their conversion approved are units located in municipalities such as Rondonópolis, Várzea Grande, Sinop, Diamantino, Nobres, Colíder, Marcelândia, Feliz Natal and Poxoréu. Consultations for another 11 schools are scheduled for the 16th and 17th of June and will involve units from cities such as Cuiabá, Barra do Garças, Pontes e Lacerda, Poconé, Mirassol D’Oeste, Comodoro and São José dos Quatro Marcos.
