Teacher is investigated for alleged psychological violence against children in Campos A complaint of alleged mistreatment against an 8-year-old student is being investigated by the Civil Police in Campos dos Goytacazes, in the North of Fluminense. The case took place at the Marlene Henriques Alves Municipal School, located in Parque Aeroporto, in Guarus. Among the reports presented by the family are situations in which children were prevented from drinking water or going to the bathroom during classes. The mother also reported that her daughter began to show fear of attending school and that, on one of the occasions, she returned home without being able to use the bathroom during the period she remained in the unit. The case gained greater repercussion after the child fell ill at school. According to the person responsible, the girl needed to be taken to Ferreira Machado Hospital for treatment. After the episode, she reportedly resisted returning to classes. In a statement given to the Civil Police, the school director reported that she had already received complaints from other officials about the teacher's conduct and that she even spoke to the professional about the complaints presented. The management also reported that the teacher was removed from the unit after the facts reported. When contacted by the report, the Municipal Department of Education, Science and Technology (Seduct) informed that it is monitoring the case with the competent bodies and that the school management is collaborating with the investigations. The secretariat also stated that the professional stopped working at the unit to ensure the investigation of the facts and preserve the tranquility of the school community. In a statement, the municipality highlighted that it is awaiting the conclusion of the investigations before commenting again on the case. So far, the Civil Police is investigating the circumstances of the complaint to clarify what happened inside the classroom.
