This Tuesday (9), the Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized R$48,449.00 without proof of origin. The money was transported by two women, aged 29 and 30, in a stolen car. The name of the suspects was not released. The case was registered on BR-232, in Gravatá, in the Agreste region of Pernambuco.
According to the PRF, police officers from the Caruaru Police Station and the Dog Operations Group were carrying out an inspection at kilometer 71 of the highway, when they approached the vehicle occupied by the two women. After consultation, the team found that the car had been reported stolen since May 12, in Recife, the state capital.

During the inspection, the police found a backpack inside the car, which contained banknotes distributed in different denominations. One of the women reported that the money would come from the sale of a house in Caruaru and that the amount would be used as a down payment, but did not provide proof of the transaction. She also said she was unaware that the vehicle was stolen.
The two women were taken to the Vitória de Santo Antão Civil Police Station, which will be responsible for investigating the case.
