Duo is arrested with a car registered as misappropriation on Via Dutra, in Piraí Disclosure/Federal Highway Police Two men were arrested with a vehicle registered as misappropriated on Tuesday night (9) on Via Dutra, in Piraí (RJ). The case happened at km 233, on the road towards Rio de Janeiro, around 7:30 pm. The agents were carrying out a crime-fighting inspection on the stretch when they approached a car with Belo Horizonte (MG) license plates. According to the Federal Highway Police, there were two men in the vehicle, aged 54 and 55. Still according to the PRF, during the approach, the driver introduced himself as a reserve military police officer and said that the vehicle was rented and that it would be regularized. According to the corporation, the driver then said that the car was rented to a company for which it provides vehicle maintenance services and that it had left from Nova Iguaçu (RJ) to Barra Mansa (RJ) to carry out a service. The pair and the vehicle were taken to the Piraí police station to register the recovery of the car. The Federal Highway Police also reported that at the police unit, the driver changed the version previously presented and said he was the owner of a mechanic workshop. He also told the police that a person whose name or contact details he could not provide had left the car for maintenance, but did not return to pay for the service or pick up the vehicle.
