Suspicion of financial imbalances in territorial communities prompts central investigations

The central departments of the Ministry of the Interior mobilized territorial officials in the prefectures and provinces of the Casablanca-Settat, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra and Marrakesh-Safi regions, after receiving urgent reports that revealed new imbalances in the management of collective debts, represented by a number of group heads seeking to “recycle” financial arrears owed to contractors into deals suspected of being used to serve electoral agendas as the legislative due date approaches next September.
