Congress challenges the legitimacy of Port Sudan's authority

The Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives approved a new draft law on Sudan that includes a wide package of political and punitive measures, most notably calling on the US administration to challenge the legitimacy of the representation of the current Sudanese government within the United Nations and international institutions, in addition to imposing expanded sanctions on parties to the conflict and those involved in serious violations and obstruction of humanitarian aid.
