Amazonas is the second Brazilian state with the highest proportion of people registered with the name Neymar, according to data from the “Names in Brazil” platform of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The survey, based on the 2022 Demographic Census, shows that 239 residents of the state are named after Brazil's number 10 in the 2026 World Cup.
The proportion of people named Neymar in Amazonas is 0.006% of the state population, second only to Roraima, which records a rate of 0.008%. Throughout Brazil, 2,443 people have this name, which ranks 4,486th among the most frequent in the country.
The data also shows that the median age of people named Neymar is 11 years old, indicating that the popularization of the name occurred mainly in the last decade, a period in which the player achieved national and international recognition.

Six cities in Amazonas are among the top ten in the country
In addition to being the second state in the country with the highest proportion of people named Neymar, Amazonas has six of the ten Brazilian municipalities where the name is most common.
São Paulo de Olivença occupies the second position nationally, with 0.04% of the population registered with the name. Santo Antônio do Içá also appears with the same percentage. Tabatinga comes in fourth place, with 0.03%.
São Gabriel da Cachoeira and Maués appear in fifth and sixth positions, respectively, both with 0.02% of the population. Manaus closes the ranking of the top ten, with a proportion of 0.002%.
