Minister Dias Toffoli took office this Tuesday (9) as effective minister of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), the body responsible for organizing the October elections.
Toffoli will fill the vacancy of Cármen Lúcia, who left the court after completing a two-year term in command of the Court.

In a brief speech, the minister said that he will be committed to guaranteeing the sovereignty of voters in elections.
"Who decides the electoral process is the people, not the Justice. Who decides the vote is the master of the vote. The effective moment in which all Brazilians are effectively equal is when they cast their vote in the electronic ballot box", he stated.
Composition
The TSE is made up of seven ministers, three from the STF, two from the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) and two lawyers appointed by the President of the Republic, in addition to their respective substitutes.
From now on, the new composition of ministers will be:
Kassio Nunes Marques (president)
André Mendonça (vice-president),
Dias Toffoli, Antonio Carlos Ferreira (STJ),
Ricardo Villas Boas Cueva (STJ),
Floriano Azevedo Marques (jurist) and
Estela Aranha (jurist).
