Marlon Ferreira Lemes was sentenced to 23 years and three months in prison for planning an attack with caustic soda on his ex-girlfriend Isabelly Aparecida Ferreira Moro in May 2024. The decision was handed down on Tuesday night (9), at the end of the Jury Court held in Jacarezinho, in the North of Paraná.
In the decision, the jury understood that Marlon committed the crime of attempted feminicide with the aggravating factors of a base motive, cruel means and a resource that made the victim's defense difficult. He must serve his sentence in a closed regime.

The trial began on Monday morning (8) and heard witnesses, Isabelly, prosecution assistants and defenses. The case was analyzed by the Sentencing Council, which maintained the following qualifications:
Resource that made the victim's defense difficult: Because Isabelly was attacked by surprise by the person who carried out the crime, who, to avoid being recognized, wore a disguise;
Bad reason: given the feeling of possession that Marlon felt towards the victim and revenge for the end of the relationship, while Débora felt jealous and envious of the victim;
Cruel means: due to the use of caustic soda, a highly toxic and corrosive chemical, with the aim of causing intense suffering to Isabelly.
In the decision, it was also determined that Marlon pay compensation for moral damages to Isabelly, in the amount of R$50 thousand.

Accused of carrying out the crime, Débora Aparecida Custódio Ferreira was also on trial, but her defense decided to leave the Jury Court early Tuesday afternoon. Lawyers claim that the trial was "not fair" to her. As a result, it will be judged on a date, which has not yet been defined.

When did the crime happen?
Isabelly was attacked on the afternoon of May 22, 2024, while going to the gym. A woman approached her, threw the liquid — which police later discovered was caustic soda — and fled. At the time of the crime, the suspect was wearing a wig and loose clothes. Watch above.
The young woman was approached at Alameda Padre Magno, in the central region of Jacarezinho. In a video recorded by a surveillance camera, the victim appears running in search of help after being hit.
A barber saw Isabelly asking for help, put her in the car and took her to the hospital.
After the attack, a witness found a black bag and a cup, which were wet. The material was collected for analysis.

What injuries were caused to Isabelly?
Isabelly was hit in the face and chest area. The victim suffered second-degree burns to the mouth, oropharyngeal cavity, hypopharynx and torso. In addition, she also had injuries to her upper and lower lip and oral cavity.
At the hospital, the young woman still had an infectious condition and was subjected to intubation for mechanical ventilation and sedation. Who are those accused of committing the crime?
Marlon Ferreira Lemes and Débora Aparecida Custódio Ferreira are arrested on suspicion of attacking Isabelly.

Those accused of attacking Isabelly are her ex-boyfriend, Marlon Ferreira Lemes, and Débora Aparecida Custódio Ferreira, who was his partner at the time.
Débora was arrested by the Military Police two days after the attack. She asked the owner of a hotel where she was hiding for help, and he reported it. Meanwhile, Marlon was already arrested for cell phone theft.
According to the Public Ministry, analysis of data from Débora's cell phone revealed that Marlon planned the crime. According to the complaint, even though he was arrested, he convinced Débora to join the plan and attack Isabelly.
Since then, Marlon has been preventively detained in the Londrina State Penitentiary and Débora is in the Santo Antônio da Platina Public Prison.
The two were denounced by the Public Ministry (MP-PR) on June 7, 2024. On May 16, 2025, the Court decided that they would be submitted to the popular jury.
What did they say in testimony?
In the document to which g1 had access, Marlon and Débora confessed to the crime in a statement given during the process.
Marlon admitted that he planned the crime with Débora. He said that the objective was to "scare" Isabelly, as she was supposedly passing by the jail during visiting hours and mocking Débora.
According to the document, Débora carried out the attack and threw the caustic soda at Isabelly.
She said in her statement that Marlon bought the material before he was arrested and did research on the product. The accused also said that he instructed her to disguise herself at the time of the attack.
“He wanted to throw the soda at her to make her ugly,” said Débora, in the statement.
