Students at the University of São Paulo (USP), through the Central Student Directory (DCE), announced on Monday night (8) the end of the strike they had been carrying out for almost two months. The decision to end the strike occurred after an assembly that had 323 votes for the end of the strike against 255 for maintaining the movement. According to a collective decision, courses can decide independently whether to maintain or end the strike. Invasion Also on Monday night, a group of six young people, between 18 and 22 years old, were detained after breaking into the USP Central Administration building. According to the Military Police, who were called, they blocked access to the building with barricades. In the confrontation, three security guards were injured. The police arrested six people who, according to the authority, were carrying fireworks, clubs, radio communicators, megaphones, sledgehammers and slingshots. There was also damage to university equipment and furniture. The USP DCE reported that it was not related to the invasion. In a manifesto published online, the group of students who invaded the building declared themselves independent and opposed the end of the strike. The protesters were taken to the 7th Police District, in Lapa (west zone), where they were interviewed and released. The case was registered as serious bodily injury and damage to public property.
