From June 8 to June 14, as part of the annual “You are not alone,” Russian independent media and NGOs are participating in a week of support for political prisoners. In conditions where pressure on human rights defenders is increasing, it is especially important to help those who are trying not to leave political prisoners alone with the system. Meduza found out from three lawyers who handle cases under political charges why they continue to do this work if acquittals are no longer handed down in Russia, and the defendants’ sentences are only getting longer.
