A 5-year-old boy died after falling from a truck driven by his own father in José Boiteux, in Vale do Itajaí, in Santa Catarina. Bernardo Balbino Boaventura was hit by the vehicle on Friday (5), when they arrived at the family property.
The boy's father, whose name was not released, told the Military Police that he was driving the truck when his son opened the door and fell onto the road. He is being investigated for manslaughter in traffic, when there is no intention to kill, said delegate André Portella this Monday (8).

The driver reported that he immediately hit the brakes, but the vehicle did not stop immediately due to the oil brake system, passing over the boy. The case occurred in the town of Volta Grande.
Teams from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and the Águia helicopter, from the Military Police, were called to help the victim. The child died at the scene.
The Francisco Bertelli school, where the child studied, issued a note of condolence for the loss of the student.
"In this moment of immense sadness and pain, we express our most sincere condolences to his family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of living with him. His joy, innocence and affection will forever remain in the memory of our community. Rest in peace."
