What are the differences between culpable and intentional homicide? Diego Amancio da Silva was sentenced to 14 years in prison for attacking, murdering and robbing Manoel Alves Pereira Filho. The crime occurred on February 19, 2023, in Cachoeira do Barro, in the rural area of ​​Barras. The conviction was announced this Monday (8), following a decision obtained on Tuesday (2) by the Public Ministry of Piauí (MPPI). At the time, the police chief said that, before the crime, the victim took a photo with the suspect and sent it to a friend. As they were in a rural area, there was no cell phone signal. After killing Manoel, Diego fled the scene with the victim's cell phone. When you entered an area with telephone coverage, the photo was sent. The Ministry considered that the homicide was committed using cruel means and with resources that made it impossible for the victim to defend himself. The Ministry also considered that the location of the crime made it difficult to locate the body, hampered assistance and facilitated the escape of the suspect, who was arrested on March 28 in Teresina. At the time of his arrest, Diego confessed to the crime and told the police that the two drank alcohol and had a disagreement, but did not say the reason for the argument.
