Among the highlights is the series “ABC of Climate and Health”, promoted by Afya Belém, which will discuss prevention of climate-related diseases, nutrition and adaptation to climate change.
Topics such as energy transition in indigenous territories, sustainable territorial development, socio-bioeconomy, standing forest infrastructure, youth, housing and climate justice are also on the agenda.
The program also includes the event “Bioeconomy Executive Table – Açaí Processing”, on July 1st, at the Amazon Bioeconomy and Innovation Park.
With the theme “Amazonian Açaí: health, nutrition and new applications”, the activity will bring together experts, researchers, chefs and representatives of the production chain to discuss the fruit's potential on the market and its culinary and industrial applications.
According to the organization, Climate Week was designed as a space for articulation between global and Amazonian leaders, with a focus on concrete actions after COP 30. The 2026 edition also aims to strengthen the role of youth, women and indigenous peoples, in addition to monitoring commitments made at the climate conference.
Lucimar Souza, director of Territorial Development at IPAM, stated that the initiative helps to bring to the Amazon a debate that previously took place far from the region. For her, Climate Week "strengthens listening, dialogue and the construction of solutions linked to local reality, in addition to expanding understanding of the global climate agenda".
The first edition, held in 2025, brought together more than 4 thousand participants, totaled more than 100 hours of programming and featured more than 35 events in Belém.
