What changes in practice? Over the next few months, specialized teams will monitor and train the unit's criminal police officers in security procedures used in the Federal Penitentiary System. Among the activities are protocols for the movement of prisoners, searches, access control, containment of risk situations and organization of work teams. In total, 40 criminal police officers from Mato Grosso do Sul participate in the training alongside members of the National Penal Force. According to Senappen, the objective is to share techniques and procedures developed over almost 20 years of operation in the federal penitentiary system, adapting practices to the reality of state units. Among them are X-ray machines, body scanners and specialized vehicles, which will be used to reinforce supervision, control of entry and exit of people and the security of the unit. According to the national secretary of Penal Policies, André Garcia, the proposal goes beyond the delivery of equipment. "The objective is to strengthen the operational capacity of strategic units and expand integration between Brazilian criminal forces in combating organized crime," he stated. National Penal Force operates in the state The presence of the National Penal Force in Mato Grosso do Sul was authorized by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security for an initial period of 90 days. The mission brings together federal criminal police officers and agents from several states across the country. Currently, 22 professionals participate in the operation, coming from Acre, Bahia, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Roraima, São Paulo and Sergipe.
