One of them stated that the consequences could have been serious if the fragments had hit people inside the houses.
One of the affected residences had damage to a bedroom. In a video, the resident showed the damage caused by one of the stones. “Look at the damage to my room: I even have no electricity,” he said.
In the recording, he also showed a stone that fell inside the property. “Look at the size of the rock on the ground!”
According to the report, the impact also hit a wardrobe and damaged the door.
What the authorities say
Duque de Caxias City Hall reported that it was notified of damage to a residence. After inspection, technicians ruled out the risk of collapse.
The Municipal Environment Secretariat stated that it will inspect the project.
