The Special Task Force of West Bengal Police has arrested TMC leader Jahangir Khan. This arrest has been made from Nepal border. Seven FIRs were registered against Khan at Falta police station in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Media reports have claimed that Jahangir's supporters had threatened the women with gangrape. However, no official statement has been issued by Bengal Police on this yet. He was planning to escape to Nepal. Police is bringing Jahangir to Kolkata. Jahangir had contested the 2026 assembly elections from Falta seat. Due to irregularities during the elections, re-elections were held here. Even before the re-election, Jahangir had left the field and said that he was withdrawing his name from the election. Jahangir Khan had created a 'Pushpa' style image in the elections. During the election campaign, Jahangir Khan had presented himself like the character of the film 'Pushpa'.
