Aerial images show destruction in garage where 27 buses caught fire After a fire destroyed 27 buses in the Viação Anchieta garage, the City of Belo Horizonte stated that it is evaluating, together with the consortium of bus companies and the bus union, the possible impacts on the operation of public transport in the capital of Minas Gerais. Images taken by Globocop this Sunday (7) show the destruction at the site, which is in the Dom Cabral neighborhood, in the Northwest Region of BH (see video above). Despite the material damage, no one was injured. ✅ Click here to follow the g1 Minas channel on WhatsApp According to the municipal administration, the capital's collective system operates in a consortium model and, therefore, it is up to the operating consortium, represented by SetraBH, to guarantee compliance with the timetable and the regularity of the operation. "The consortium must use the reserve fleet and promote the relocation of vehicles between companies whenever necessary, to ensure service to users", added the city hall. In a statement, the Union of Passenger Transport Companies of Belo Horizonte (SetraBH) expressed solidarity with Viação Anchieta and said that other concessionaires have already mobilized to guarantee continuity of service to the population. "The emergency actions adopted aim to ensure that any unavailability resulting from the incident is promptly absorbed by the system, minimizing impacts on users [...]. New information will be released in due course, as investigations and assessment of the damage caused by the incident progress", stated the entity. TV Globo found that the affected company operates lines such as 2104, 3250, 4103, 4110, 4111, 5203, 9410, 9412 and 9414. Large fire Fire hits bus garage in BH Around 23 firefighters from the Fire Department worked to fight the flames. Witnesses reported to the corporation that the fire had started in a wooded area next to the company. The fire caused dense black smoke, visible from several parts of the city, and scared nearby residents (see video above). The causes of the fire will be investigated by the Civil Police, who were called to carry out an investigation at the scene.
