The south-west monsoon is advancing rapidly in the country. According to the Meteorological Department, by Sunday the monsoon reached 12 states. It has covered the entire Kerala, Karnataka, Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram. Pre-monsoon rains are occurring in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Hail fell along with rain in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan on Sunday. The roof of a house broke after a tin shed fell on it in Kotputli-Behror district. An auto overturned due to the storm on Indore-Khandwa highway in Madhya Pradesh. Three narrow body aircraft of Air India were damaged due to collision with ground support equipment during heavy storm and rain at Delhi Airport. All three aircraft have been taken out of operation after the incident. The heat wave is returning once again in Delhi-NCR from Monday. The temperature is expected to reach 45°C in the coming days.
