Images taken by Globocop show the destruction in the bus garage hit by fire, this Sunday (7), in the Dom Cabral neighborhood, in the Northwest Region of Belo Horizonte. According to the Fire Department, 27 vehicles were completely burned in the space, which belongs to Viação Anchieta (see video above).
Vehicles and 23 soldiers fought the flames, which, according to witnesses, started in a wooded area next to the company. Despite the material damage, no one was injured.

The fire caused dense black smoke, visible from various parts of the city, and frightened nearby residents (see video below). The causes of the fire will be investigated by the Civil Police, who were called to carry out an investigation at the scene.
In a statement, the union that represents the bus companies in the capital of Minas Gerais and the city hall said that they are evaluating the possible impacts of what happened on the operation of public transport.

Fire hits bus garage in BH
According to the Fire Department, three company employees were at the scene when the fire started: a security guard, a mechanic and an electrician. Witnesses reported that the flames started in a wooded area and spread to the garage.
According to TV Globo, the affected company operates public transport lines in the capital. Among them are 2104, 3250, 4103, 4110, 4111, 5203, 9410, 9412 and 9414.
In a statement, the Union of Passenger Transport Companies of Belo Horizonte (SetraBH) expressed solidarity with the transport company and said that other concessionaires have already mobilized to guarantee continuity of service to the population.
"The emergency actions adopted aim to ensure that any unavailability resulting from the incident is promptly absorbed by the system, minimizing impacts on users [...]. New information will be released in due course, as investigations and assessment of the damage caused by the incident progress", stated the entity.
Sought by TV Globo, Belo Horizonte City Hall reported that teams from the Municipality's Mobility Superintendence (Sumob), together with the consortium and SetraBH, evaluate the possible impacts on the operation of public transport.
"[...] It is the responsibility of the operating consortium, represented by SetraBH, to ensure compliance with the timetable and the regularity of the operation. The consortium must use the reserve fleet and promote the relocation of vehicles between companies whenever necessary, to ensure service to users", completed the municipal administration.
