The Government of Rio de Janeiro announced the opening and authorization of new public competitions for strategic areas of the state administration. There are more than 390 vacancies, which include the Department of Health, the Military Police, the State Attorney General's Office (PGE-RJ), the Rio de Janeiro State Servants Assistance Institute (Iaserj) and the State Institute of the Environment (INEA).
The Health Department has the largest number of vacancies. The selection offers 226 opportunities, distributed among positions at Medium, Higher and Specialist levels, in addition to another 61 for laserj. Remuneration varies between R$2,600 and R$11,300, depending on the level of education and the role performed.
The expected positions include: doctor, nurse, pharmacist, social worker, psychologist and health administrative assistant. The notice is expected to be published later this year. The initiative is part of the State Health Plan 2024-2027 and seeks to restore the workforce after a long period without competitions for various careers in the area.
In the Environment area, INEA, the body responsible for inspection, licensing and environmental preservation actions throughout Rio de Janeiro, will open 150 vacancies destined for different areas of the environmental body. The expectation is that the notice, containing all the rules, positions, requirements and selection stages, will be published within approximately two months.

According to the published schedule, the competition should take place at the beginning of the second half of this year, expanding the number of employees.
According to the government, "the opportunities reinforce the commitment to restoring staff and improving the services offered to the population."
"With the competitions for Public Prosecutor's Office, Health, Military Police and Environment, the State is moving forward in replacing civil servants in areas considered essential for the functioning of public administration and for serving the population of Rio de Janeiro", stated the acting governor, Judge Ricardo Couto.
Training of officers and PGE
In Public Security, a competition for the Military Police Officer Training Course was authorized. 100 vacancies will be offered for entry into the corporation's officer career. Successful candidates will participate in the Officer Training Course, lasting three years, a mandatory stage for entry into the ranks of PM officers. Among the requirements included is higher education in Law, in addition to passing physical, medical and psychological examinations.
At the State Attorney General's Office, the 19th Competition for Entry into the Initial Class of the State Attorney's Career was published. The competition offers five places and will be valid for one year, with the possibility of being extended for the same period. Registration can be made until June 17, 2026, on the website www.pge.rj.gov.br. The participation fee is R$300, with an exemption for candidates with a gross family income of up to four minimum wages.
