Avaí is champion of the Copa Sul-Southeast 2026. The Florianópolis team's victory was confirmed this Sunday morning (7) after Leão scored 5-4 on penalties, after Chapecoense returned the 3-0 score from the first leg in normal time at Arena Condá, in Chapecó (SC).
Chapecoense's goals were scored by João Paulo (on two occasions) and Bruno Pacheco.
In the penalties, Rubens hit the post for Chapecoense and all the Avai players scored. Wenderson was responsible for the fifth kick and the title goal.
This was the first edition of the Copa Sul-Southeast. New tournament created by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to offer a longer calendar for medium-sized clubs. There were 12 participants from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
All teams classified for continental competitions did not participate in the South-Southeast Cup.
