The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanomla Ghebreyesus, went on Saturday to the Congolese region most affected by the Ebola outbreak, urging residents to seek treatment and implement safe burial procedures at a time when officials are striving to contain the deadly disease. The current Ebola outbreak, the 17th in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the third largest since the disease was discovered half a century ago, is outpacing the global response, something Tedros acknowledged days ago before traveling to Kinshasa on Thursday.
