Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again expressed confidence in Himachal's retired IAS Tarun Kapoor. PM Modi has appointed Tarun Kapoor as advisor in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for the third time. Now he will work on this post till June 10, 2027. The Central Personnel Department has issued orders regarding this on Thursday evening. Now do you know why PM appointed Tarun Kapoor as advisor for the third time? Tarun Kapoor is also called Solar Man. He did better work in promoting solar energy in Himachal Pradesh. Centre's PM Surya Ghar free electricity scheme is also the result of Tarun Kapoor's thinking. BJP has set a target of reducing electricity bills to zero in all houses. Under the scheme, solar power plants are being installed on all the houses. Tarun Kapoor is a very soft-spoken officer with efficiency in his work. Like other bureaucrats, he did not give importance to red light culture. Any time someone comes and easily joins them and takes out his own. He was never involved in any kind of controversies nor was he accused of corruption. Himachal's 1987 batch IAS Tarun Kapoor retired in November 2022 as Secretary from the Ministry of Petroleum, Government of India in November 2022. Till 2019, he was serving in Himachal. When Tarun Kapoor went to Delhi on central deputation, he was holding the rank of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) in Himachal and was looking after important departments like Forest, Environment Science and Technology, Power. Tarun Kapoor, who was also DC Shimla-Chamba, served in Delhi Jal Board in 2019 when he went on central deputation. After this he served as Secretary in the Petroleum Ministry. Before this, he had held the responsibilities of various departments including DC Shimla-Chamba. Tarun Kapoor belongs to Shimla. Tarun Kapoor belongs to Shimla, the queen of hills. His primary education was also from Shimla. He has done a good job in promoting solar energy in the state. This is the reason why he is also called Solar Man.
