Ankit Sharma's body was recovered from a drain in Khajuri Khas area of Delhi in February 2020. His father had accused Tahir Hussain and others of murder. In March 2023, the court had framed charges against all the accused. The court has heard the arguments of all the parties and has reserved the decision. In February 2020, communal violence broke out in Delhi amid protests and support for the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). 53 people died and hundreds were injured in the riots. Today's other big news... Accused who was absconding for 22 years arrested in Mumbai, was living just 9 km away from the incident site. Mumbai Police has arrested an accused named Rajendra Shinde, who was absconding for 22 years. A case was registered against him under the Prevention of Immoral Prostitution Act (PITA). The police had intensified the search for him after a non-bailable warrant was issued from the Mazgaon court. Police received information that the accused was living in Vile Parle area. He was arrested on the basis of surveillance and intelligence. The special thing is that he was living only 9 kilometers away from the Oshiwara area where the case was registered against him. At present the police is further investigating the matter.
