A man in his 60s was found dead in a detached house in Iksan, Jeollabuk-do, and the police are investigating the exact circumstances of his death. According to the police and fire authorities on the 12th, at around 8:30 a.m. on this day, a report was received from the village head at a detached house in Chunpo-myeon, Iksan-si, saying, “A resident who suffered from a disability has not been seen for several days.” The police dispatched to the scene found traces of fire inside the house and requested cooperation from the fire department. Afterwards, the body was found in a locked bathroom. A man in his 60s was found dead. At the time of discovery, the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, and traces of fire were also found inside the house. However, it has been reported that so far, no circumstances have been found to suggest a crime such as an external intrusion or murder. The police and fire authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident, keeping in mind the possibility that the deceased man suffocated by inhaling smoke while trying to extinguish the fire himself.
