Former Cho Kuk, former leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, expressed regret to Resene and its fans over the recent controversy surrounding idol group Resene member Woni's 'scary' remark. Former CEO Cho said on Facebook on the 12th, “My heart was heavy in the aftermath of my raising an issue about the use of the Ilbe-style ‘no’, which looks similar to the Gyeongsang-do language but is clearly different.” He said, “I wanted to point out how deeply Ilbe culture has permeated the linguistic life of our society and to raise awareness of its dangers. What I especially deplored was the phenomenon of the Ilbe-style use of ‘No’, which started as a mockery of the late President Roh Moo-hyun, spreading throughout our society without any criticism and being tolerated.” He continued, “However, I learned that my raising of the issue was being taken as a criticism of Resene. To be clear, I have never mentioned or targeted Resene in any of my writings. I have never said that Resene is Ilbe. Honestly, I have almost no knowledge of idol groups, including Resene.”
