Great Britain: Ruth Ellis is pardoned – 71 years after she was executed

Ruth Ellis was executed in 1955 because she shot her partner. More than 70 years later, the British government recognized the extenuating circumstances that had been ignored at the time and pardoned Ellis posthumously.
