Authorities said Mr. Liu suffered from insomnia and anxiety. He said he was experiencing symptoms and explained that the cause of the accident was “personal reasons.” It was also added that Mr. Liu was flying alone at the time of the accident, and that communication with Pinggu Airport on the outskirts of Beijing was lost after leaving the designated flight area. Previously, on the 26th of last month, a two-seater light sports aircraft crashed into the CITIC Tower, a 108-story, 528m high skyscraper in Beijing's Central Business District (CBD).
