President Lee Jae-myung will announce a large-scale domestic investment plan with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix at the Blue House guesthouse on the 29th. Kang Yu-jeong, Chief Spokesperson of the Blue House, announced on the 28th that the ‘Public Reporting Meeting on the Three Mega Projects for Korea’s Great Leap Forward’ will be held with President Lee presiding over on the afternoon of the 29th. President Lee plans to reveal the broad framework of the investment project through his opening remarks at the briefing session. This will be followed by announcements of specific investment plans by related ministries such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. At the briefing, details of investments at the corporate level by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix will also be disclosed. There are predictions that it will include investment in the Chungcheong and Yeongnam regions, including the creation of a Honam semiconductor cluster. Regarding the scale of investment, the market predicts that it will reach approximately 1,000 trillion won over 10 years. Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won are also scheduled to attend the briefing session.
