Championship Tour
The Championship Tour, the elite of world surfing, brings together the main surfers in the world, both male and female.
Among the men, the Brazilians are Gabriel Medina (category ranking leader), Ítalo Ferreira, Filipe Toledo, Miguel Pupo, Samuel Pupo, João Chianca, Alejo Muniz, Mateus Herdy and the current world champion Yago Dora.
Among women, the only Brazilian competing in the category is Luana Silva, who currently leads the female classification.
Lucas Chumbo
With four Brazilians in the top 5 of the ranking, the Circuit gains a boost in this sixth stage of the season. Specialist in giant waves, Lucas Chumbo was invited by the WSL to face the best surfers in the world at Praia de Itaúna, the stage where he grew up and learned to surf.
The surfer will compete in the event at home, in Saquarema, with his brother João Chianca, current number 23 in the world.
Despite having built his career on giant waves, Lucas Chumbo already has a history in Saquarema. In 2024, he competed in a QS stage there and, in 2025, he faced the CS. Now, for the first time, the surfer will enter the heats of the WCT, the elite of world surfing.
