The Fundação Rede Amazônica and the organization of the Bioeconomy Amazon Summit (BAS) took, this Wednesday (17), the first steps towards building a possible partnership aimed at holding the 2027 edition of the event in Manaus. The alignment meeting was attended by the executive director of the Fundação Rede Amazônica, Mariane Cavalcante, the CEO of BAS, Guilherme Manechini, and the project coordinator of the Fundação Rede Amazônica, Matheus Aquino.
During the meeting, opportunities for institutional cooperation, strategies to strengthen the bioeconomy agenda in the Amazon and possibilities for holding the event in the capital of Amazonas were discussed. Among the places evaluated to host the meeting is Mercado de Origem, which brings together initiatives linked to innovation, sustainability and appreciation of regional culture.
Created in 2023, the Bioeconomy Amazon Summit has established itself as a space for connection between science, entrepreneurship, traditional knowledge, the private sector and civil society organizations. The event promotes debates and articulations aimed at building solutions to the environmental, economic and social challenges of the Amazon.

With the Amazonian entrepreneur as the protagonist, the Summit seeks to stimulate innovation, accelerate sustainable businesses and strengthen initiatives that contribute to forest conservation and the region's development. The program brings together representatives from different sectors to discuss topics such as sustainable financing, territorial innovation, production chains, reforestation, culture and bioeconomy.
For Guilherme Manechini, getting closer to institutions that work directly in the Amazon is fundamental to expanding the reach and impact of the event.
"The construction of the Summit takes place through dialogue with organizations that know the Amazon reality. We want to strengthen connections and create opportunities for solutions developed in the region to gain increasing visibility and reach", he highlighted.
Mariane Cavalcante highlighted the importance of joining efforts around initiatives that promote the sustainable development of the Amazon.
"The Fundação Rede Amazônica believes in the power of partnerships to generate positive impact. This approach with BAS represents an opportunity to expand strategic discussions about innovation, sustainability and development for our region", he stated.
The initial forecast is that the next edition of the Bioeconomy Amazon Summit will take place in May 2027, in Manaus. The articulations are in the initial phase and new meetings should be held in the coming months to define the details of the partnership, programming and structure of the event.
