At the meeting, TRE brought updated data that points to 614,753 voters able to vote in the 22 municipalities in Acre. There are 701 voting locations planned for this year's election, with 2,417 polling stations. According to the court, 9,500 poll workers are registered to take part in these elections.
According to the president of the TRE, judge Waldirene Cordeiro, a factor that still concerns the institution is the practices of disinformation during campaigns.
To try to solve the problem, the agency will organize visits to the nine districts to provide guidance. "We count on the support of partner institutions to ensure that the ballot boxes, servers and all the necessary structure arrive at the voting locations safely and in a timely manner," he stated.
The settlement of disputes with the Electoral Court ended on May 7 across the country. According to electoral legislation, electoral registration is closed 150 days before the first round. Voting is mandatory in supplementary elections. Anyone who does not vote or justify may suffer fines and other penalties.
One of the new features of the election is the change in inauguration dates: for the first time, the President of the Republic will take office on January 5, 2027, the governors on the following day.
