The movement, which has been carrying out constant and peaceful protests since February this year, calls for more quality in student retention policies, financing, structure and investments in education and research.

The march was attended by hundreds of university students, who headed towards the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo (Alesp).
Students at the University of São Paulo (USP) carried out a strike lasting over 40 days, which ended at the beginning of the month, in which they demanded a strengthening of student permanence policies, an end to outsourcing of university restaurants, a permanent dialogue on the management of student spaces, a prioritization of education and an end to cuts in the university's budget. According to the students, the strike allowed for dialogue with the rectory.
Students from other institutions, such as Unicamp and Unesp, also mobilized.
Regarding the demonstrations, the state government understands that the demands must be handled by the university rectors.
