He was located in a residence on the banks of BA-026 and tried to escape during the approach, but was caught and contained by the agents. The man is being investigated for the death of Maria de Fátima dos Santos Santana, aged 41. She had gone out to visit a sister in the Santa Terezinha neighborhood and was in the company of her then husband. The woman was rescued and taken to the Santo Antônio de Jesus Regional Hospital, but she did not survive her injuries. According to the PC, investigations showed that the two had been separated for around a year and that the victim had been receiving death threats from her ex-partner. The arrest warrant was issued by the 1st Criminal, Jury and Criminal Executions Court of the District of Santo Antônio de Jesus. According to the PC, the suspect was located after investigative work carried out by teams from the 4th Regional Interior Police Coordination (Coorpin) and the Tactical and Technical Investigation Support Group (Gatti/Leste). After arrest, the man was taken to the Santo Antônio de Jesus Territorial Police Station. He remains in custody at the disposal of the Court.
