The action took place at km 301, towards São Paulo. According to the PRF, agents were carrying out routine patrols when they approached a vehicle occupied by two people. When consulting the security system, the police found that the car had an active theft record, which had occurred in the city of Juiz de Fora (MG) at the beginning of March this year. According to the corporation, the driver informed the agents that he works in the automobile trade and that he purchased the vehicle after seeing an advertisement on the internet. According to the report, the payment of R$18,000 was made via Pix to an account indicated by the seller. Given the facts, the case was initially registered as embezzlement and recovery of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle and the two people were taken to the Porto Real police station, where the case was registered. The PRF also warns about purchasing vehicles made in public places, with prices well below the market or payments to third party accounts, these could be signs of a scam carried out over the internet.
