The science of washing is one of the most important local ceremonies of Bandar Abbas, which is held every year on the second day of Muharram. In this tradition, people go to the shore of the Persian Gulf to purify Hossein's sciences, wash the sciences in water with prayers and blessings and prepare them for mourning. This ritual is several hundred years old and shows the spiritual connection of the people of Bandar Abbas with Ashura.
