Dr. Oğuz Akkuş pointed out that heart-related deaths, which came to the fore with the death of actress Ece İrtem (35), constitute 70-80 percent of sudden deaths at a young age, and said, "We see the most common cause of sudden deaths, especially under the age of 30, as genetically inherited arrhythmias and heart muscle diseases. In case of delay in diagnosis and treatment, sudden death may occur as a result of the heart stopping due to fatal palpitations or inability to contract."
