The Federal Police carry out an operation this Wednesday (17), against a group suspected of drug trafficking, illegal firearms trade, criminal organization and money laundering in the lower south of Bahia. The Court also ordered the freezing of assets and financial assets of those under investigation up to the amount of R$16.5 million.
According to the PF, in total, 24 court warrants are being served, 11 for arrest and 13 for search and seizure. The measures are being implemented in the municipalities of Gandu, Itabuna, Vera Cruz and Jequié.
According to the Federal Police, the investigation was carried out over approximately two years.
Operation Tentaculum is carried out by the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime in Ilhéus (FICCO/Ilhéus) and the Gandu Territorial Police Station, - 5th Regional Interior Police Coordination (5th COORPIN/Valença and Internship Center).
The action also includes the participation of teams from the Bahia Civil Police, through DIRPIN Sul and the 5th COORPIN/Valença, as well as units from the Bahia Military Police, including the CPR Recôncavo, the 60th CIPM/Gandu, the CIPE Recôncavo, the CIPT-R, the 23rd BPM/Vera Cruz, the 14th BPM/Santo Antônio de Jesus, the 31st BPM/Valença and the 15th BPM/Itabuna.
